This short work is evident to the need to present Islamic and Muslim views of language, its systems and actions in situations of communication. The work is inspired by tremendous treasure of theories and views related language in Islamic heritage, something that encourages intellectual endeavour in order to introduce it to students of linguistics.
To protect this treasure, there is need to develop on it in many ways among which is to integrate it with modern development in the field of linguistic studies. This work, however, is an introductory reading in views and theories of language presented by some Muslim scholars as well an in-depth reading in some of their selected works on language, social sciences and texts studies and analysis.
I am indebted to Aminah Titilola, my wife who helped in typing major parts of the manuscripts of this book and to My friend Mr. Taiwo Hanbal AbdulRahim who encouraged me to proceed on with the project while he was in Malaysia.
